Outstanding! This is a great way to tackle this complex series. With so many possible reverses and die pairings, your approach should help facilitate new discoveries. Congratulations on your new site and on your long standing commitment to this series.

have been looking for a place to discuss Victorian cent varieties. am way behind the rest of you but I have hoarded Canadian varities for 25 years. I have many 1c doubled dies, clashes, and repunched dates. some of my finds were published in Canadian coin news and world coin news in articles by ken potter. am anxious to share info back and forth.

We recomment the forum Canadian Copper Coins as the place to go to discuss 1859 cent attributions and varieties. Ed

I am very impressed .. I ran a couple items through and it's grand! Since you didn't have time to specifically examine all the coins I sent you due to time constraints, I'll look at those you marked "unseen" and let you know if anything is new. Anyway, Dr Haxby, it looks like a wonderful effort. I'll keep in touch.

Terrific, Jim. I'll run my narrow 9's and see if I have any you don't list.

I had a great time testing this site and it is only the demo! Can't wait to see the full Monty operational, it will be a riot (numismatically speaking).

Thanks so much for this Dr. Haxby.

I saw Randy Ash's writeup in latest CN Journal (thanks for that too Randy), and now I'm diving into your well organized website. I'm 2 for 2 on matching up my 59's, which probably like most everyone else, have been just sitting and waiting around in piles to be recognized in full.

I saw the notice about this site in the RCNA Journal. The work and detail is wonderful. It is a great help to anyone who is interested in the varieties of these coins, and an inspiration to anyone who wants to do this type of work with any other type or series. Congratulations, and best wishes.

Well one thing I assume is that you spent more spare time with Victoria than your wife during these last couple of years. She also has to be in love with you as much as you with Vicky.
Thanks to both of you for all the efforts that went into this.

Thank you so very much for this incredible site! I recommend it to all my contacts in numismatics - even those who do not collect 1859s - because it is an absolutely fantastic master work in how to categorize and organize a series.

And once they see it they might decide to start collecting them. It's that addicting!
